Curtin sporting facilities are for exclusive use by eligible students and staff only. Facility users will be subjected to verification checks before, during or after facility usage.

- Facilities Booking Priority
- Payment must be made in advance, which is at least 1 day before the actual game day using Curtin ePay. Failing of which, will enable SRS to void the booking and release the reserved slot without prejudice.
- All Sports & Recreation locations, including the outdoor facilities and car park areas, are designated smoke-free area. Users are to refrain from smoking in these areas. Disciplinary action will be taken against offenders.
- No food and drinks are allowed in all indoor facilities
- Appropriate sports attire and footwear must be worn at all times. Bare feet/ slippers/ sandals/ boots/ smart casual shoes/ shoes with spikes or protrusions are not allowed.
- SRS reserve the right to override or cancel any booking made. SRS staff will notify student/staff on any changes made in their booking through student /staff webmail.
- Any Gym member/non-member whose name is registered for the facilities booking is solely responsible for any loss or damage that he/she or his/her visitors/guests may cause to the SRS facilities or equipment, if such loss or damage is caused by carelessness, negligence, or improper conduct.
- Users found violating any of the above rules and regulations will be issued with warning letters, which will be recorded in the student’s file. Curtin Non-Academic Disciplinary Committee is obliged to enforce appropriate action on repeated offense after the second warning letter.
- In the event of heavy rain and/or lightning, members are advised to discontinue any outdoor activities to avoid serious injury or death.
- No excessive noise or use of PA systems are allowed after 9.00 pm.
- Users are obliged to comply with instructions provided by the SRS personnel and its representative on duty.
- SRS personnel and its representatives may, at their own discretion, request users who are found to be in violation of any of the rules and regulations to cease or desist from such action or to leave the facilities immediately.
- Members shall comply with the additional rules imposed by the SRS regarding the use of facilities, services and equipment.
- SRS reserves the right to add, delete and/or vary the above rules and regulations as it deems fit.
- The University, its staff, agents or representatives shall not be liable for any mishap, disability, damage, loss, injuries, or deaths howsoever caused arising from or in connection with use of the sport facilities and equipment.
Gymnasium User
- The SRS facilities are for exclusive use by active paid members only. Users are subjected to checks before, during or after usage for membership verification.
- No member is permitted to bring or allow guests or non-members into The Gym
- Person under 16 years of age is not permitted into the Gym.

Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 9.00pm
Saturday: 8.00am to 5pm
Sunday: CLOSED
- Members should consult their physician for the appropriate exercise regime. Any exercise undertaken without or against physician’s advice shall be considered at member’s own risk.
- Members are to be dressed in appropriate sports attire at all times. Appropriate sports shoes are to be worn. Bare feet/ slippers/ sandals/ boots/ smart casual shoes/ shoes with spikes or protrusions are not allowed.

- Personal towels are mandatory in the Gym. All gym members are expected to practice good hygiene and gym etiquette.
- No food and drinks are allowed at the workout area.
- Smoking is strictly not allowed.
- Members are not allowed to bring personal belongings into the workout area.
- Members are provided with lockers inside the changing room to keep their belongings for a short while during exercise. Padlock purchase is at member’s own cost. No lockers are allowed to be locked overnight. SRS reserves rights to cut member’s padlock and discard any belongings inside a locked locker on the following day routine inspection. Locker usage is at member’s own risks. The University shall not be held liable for any loss or damage of any nature to any of the items kept in the lockers provided.
- Members are not allowed to tamper with other appliances in the gym except electrical and air conditioner switches. Last member to leave the gym must switch off all lights and air-conditioners to conserve energy.
- Members must adhere to SRS instructions on the usage of the exercise equipment. Weight collars must be used at all times to secure weights on the barbells during exercise.
- Members are not allowed to monopolize the machines. Cardio machines are restricted to 20 minutes per use during peak hours. All other equipment shall be shared among members at all times.
- Members must return all gym equipment, barbells, dumbbells and free weights to their designated places after use. No equipment is allowed to be taken out from the Gym under any circumstances.
- Gym members will be held responsible for any damages caused to the Gym facilities or equipment and shall bear any rectification or replacement cost incurred.
- Members shall comply with the additional rules imposed by the SRS regarding the use of facilities, services and equipment.
- SRS personnel and its representatives may, at their own discretion, request users who are found to be in violation of any of the rules and regulations to cease or desist from such action or to leave the Gym immediately.
